Cochrane A.B. is located at 51.1890° N, 114.4670° W. You can see the mountains, beautiful sunsets, and the water of the lake change through the seasons. One lake that goes right along the edge of Cochrane is called Bow river.
Senator Matthew Henry Cochrane was the man Cochrane was named after. He was the one who settled the Cochrane Ranche in 1881. Few people made Cochrane their home although the surrounding ranching population. Senator Cochrane was named this to honored the Canadian Pacific Railway, which was gave to the town in 1885.
